I purchased the GT factory Diablo kit and the shop is having a real hard time with the install. They can't get the door to open far enough to clear even with the door panel off. A GT Factory rep is being a great help sending pictures and instructions, on what needs to be done. I hope it is all worth it.

It's worth it... they're just going to have to do a lot of cutting and welding until they get it right... once they figure out one door... the other is easy.

you can open the door just enough to get in... so long as you're not a large person.

Just called GT Factory and they're selling the fiberglass door panels for $500 + $50 shipping. I also asked about the carbon fiber panels and they said they no longer carry em.

the vent is made considerably thinner than the original to allow for the clearance. So it's there... but it just doesn't work all that great when the door is closed since it doesn't match up all that great.

but since I'm shaving my handles I'm also getting rid of the interior door handle. I'm going to use poppers on the doors. As for the vent I'm going to work on attaching that to the dash itself.

guinea pig at work.

What would install be on the GT factory kit and the door panels? I assume in fiberglass it comes unfinished. Are they primered/ready to paint?

Where is the cheapest place to get the GT factory kit? I'm pretty interested.

My kit is a little different than the GT Factory kit... I get it here locally from the manufacture... we sell the kit for $900. the install ain't easy at all... don't be fooled man. I personally wouldn't just go to the cheapest shop and I wouldn't let anyone do it for the first time unless they are a master fabricator. The door panels are $400 unfinished... but for me that's perfect cause I'm painting my complete car.

I would honestly charge 1K per door and I prep and paint the hinge and inner fender.

You mean you actually got to speak to someone there at GT Factory... those guys never answered the phone when I tried calling them so I got mine thru.

Thanks, I called Chaser today and talked to Jamie. He said they won't have them for another 4-6 weeks. I need them asap. This was more of a simple and faster solution than preping and painting the oem panels. Looks like i'll have to go that route...
