Default is this normal for tint?

i just had my Z tinted, and there is water under the tint. the guy that did it said this is how it's done and that the water will go away. i also can't roll down my window for four days.

also i got 5% all the way around but he did two layers of 20% on the back window instead without asking first. he said it's better for heat reduction and just as dark. is this true or did he run out of 5% film?

water? wtf no way. theres something wrong. if its done right then you should not have ANY space inbetween the window and the film. bubbles form from not letting the film cure onto the window. for example if you open your windows. but water? i dunno about that.....go get it checked out at another tinting place or sumthing.

It will appear foggy...it will go away in a few days. It helps to let your car sit in the sun. Not sure about the 20% question. Sounds false to me. If you aren't happy with that go back and ask to have it done with the stuff you originally asked for. He should have no problem doing it if he was doing it in good intention.

Sometimes after a tint is installed, there will be a few small water "pockets"/"bubbles" between the tint & window - these will go away after a day or two in the sun. Just make sure these are not air/water bubbles with contaminants inside (dirt), as the dirt will not go away. As your installer mentioned, you don't want to roll your windows down for a few days - lets the tint cure to the glass & insures adhesion before the window is rolled up & down. As for the double layer of 20% - sounds wierd to me. Why do twice the work (2 layers of 20%)when one layer of 5% would've given you what you wanted? I'm sure it'll come out as dark as your 5% (as it was installed, 20% of 20% = 4%), but sounds like he ran out of 5% - ha! Or he may just have a tinting secret for heat reduction thru the rear glass....who knows????

thanks guys, you calmed me down a little . i'll give it a few days and see what it looked like. he said i have a lifetime warranty against fading, peeling, and bubbling so i shouldn't have a problem getting it fixed if need be.

does any one know what they spray on the tint when their applying it? i'll have to wait untill tomarrow to see the paint in the sun, but i think the overspray from that stuff is making my paint bubble.
and yes i just washed it to make sure to get the stuff off.

ussually that is just soap; keeps the tint from sticking and lets them manuever it around. its very gentle soap as well; dont use ammonia on tint; no ammonia cleaners. it shouldnt harm your paint at all.

yes itll have some water in there; it doesnt dry instantly; it takes a few days to a few weeks depending on temp. never heard the 2 layer thing... but cant say Ive heard much in regaurds to stuff like that. off hand; if theres no problems on appearance I wouldnt question it... pulling tint off the rear window can be disasterous; it can take the defroster with it. it seems plausable enough to me. albiet his reasoning seems odd... it ends up the same; so whats the difference. chances are if he wanted to get you; he would have just not told you and youd never have known.

As Ares said, it's just mild soapy water.........
