Now, remember this is coming from one of those people that waxes his car 3-4 times a month or 2 times a weekend sometimes. I wouldn't think you could wax a flat/satin finish or else it would start being glossy.

Won't satin paint scratch/scuff easier then cause it doesn't and can't have a "shell"?

And will the paint itself wear out faster?

After 2 professional paint jobs cracking and flaking off of my veilside lip, I used black satin spray paint on it and it stayed on without a chip or flake for almost a year, until I had the front end repainted and had it done in silverstone again. It lasted about 2 weeks til it was chipped and 2 months til it started cracking off, so I think the satin is more durable.

you can achieve the satin black look with 1000 grit sandpaper and some elbow grease

DO IT STAT, post some pics, be my idol. It's creative it's different do what feels right. I've been looking forward to a worn etched clear coat on my car so i can go flat.
ps. I've satin painted cars before much more easier to take care of, no swirl marks to worry about and wax is better used for killing weeds. hope to see pics soon
