Ya know, now that I hold it up against the car.... even if it's exactly the same as the door handles it's just too much bling for me.

A satin black power coat with SS bolt heads is sounding better. I thought about matching the cars PPW but it wouldn't have to be too far off to look wrong.

Ken350Z,

Hey, you really may be onto something here! Satin black on PPW would be the exact opposite of 'bling'... very 'businesslike' and unique.

So, does anybody know if you can powdercoat over chrome?

How about over [raw] aluminum?

I don't know much about it but will find out. I think it's can be painted on AL or chrome without a problem. It's just paint that is applied as powder and baked.

Default Cf

Powercoating should work fine, also I am looking into CF wrapping it, like the Varis one. BTW, I purchased the used one from Henry in SF, so the savings will go toward CF materials.

I've sent SluggoZ a sample to see how it matches the handles, now that I don't have a Z anymore. I can do satin black too.

Will test fit tomorrow. Spent 7 hours today putting on the front springs. Major job without power tools.

Not all things float all boats, that's why there are so many aftermarket products, each person likes one thing, and not another. I have seen this type of gas cap cover on many vehicles, trucks, rustangs, Audi TTs, etc. For the most part, it looks nice on all of them. What I don't like is the plastic cover that we have now.
