Default What is with all the gaudy ground effects?!?!

Am i the only one who thinks that every body kit that has been seen for the 350z so far is totally gaudy, tacky, and tasteless??? They all do NOT complement the car, but rather it looks like they try to out do the car. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the ground effects with all the lines, and intruding on the doors, and breaking up the slick aesthetic the car has going for it all by itself. Someone should make something more tasteful, and less visually "stunning" and make something that complements the car rather than sticking out. Sorry, I now return you to your regularly scheduled programming. /rant

I totally agree. The Stillen body kit is the most Butt-Ugly thing I have ever seen. I will be so embarrassed if I ever see that kit on a car in real life! I personally think that the Nismo kit is o.k. I don't plan on getting one of these kits, I'd rather spend the 2K on something else like engine mods.

I like the Nismo front facia, but the front spoiler on the bottom almost ruins it. It's pretty much the same as stock with the extra horizontal piece, but that makes a pretty big difference to me. Yeah the stillen kit is ugly as poo. I used to drive a mustang before I got my Z. There were a lot of companies that made really nice looking ground effects for mustangs. Made the car look really aggressive, but still tasteful. I liked the Xenon kits the most.

I've never met a ground effect I didn't hate.

Thumbs down

Not a fan of body kits at all for the most part. I think I've only seen one that is somewhat reasonable for the Z, but you'll never see on on my ride, that's for sure.

I don't like any of the kits that have come out so far except for the Nismo but I am not such a fan of body kits so I wont get one specially with the Z, it is beautiful just as it is. I will leave the kits to the "wings and things" guys, I will spend my money on performance upgrades instead.

Same here, for me its way to early to change the looks of the Z already. I'll wait a couple years before adding anything cosmetic. Going to wait until the aftermarket gets big...

but I agree that Nismo kit is toight!! very toight indeed!

Ok, you're right, Dr. Bonz. I don't hate that one. But I still like stock better. The ground effects ruin the eye flow for me.

i like the nismo rear spoiler. Everything else is too much IMO.

disrupts the clean lines of the z.

In terms of bodykits, i try and imagine said kit on a 911. then on a pontiac. if the shoe fits...

Unhappy I love you, Doc

... just not in a "let's take a warm shower together" kind of way... I've read and been amused by lots of your posts, but dude... I mean, Doctor dude - you're pimping out the brickyard a little too much there, my friend... It looks ok as is, if you put one more bell and/or whistle onto your Z, you might as well put some stickers on the side, too...
Eight coats of Zaino is enough... And are those even the original Rays that came on your track?

Default Shower! Shower! Shower!

Those are the 5-spoke Nismo wheels. Don't ask me how I know.

I like the Veilside kit! TheOne...
Although I only like the front lip spoiler (it IS just a lip spoiler right? ) The side skirts and rear lip spoiler dont complement the car all too well. The Nismo rear spoiler is probably the only one I would consider as yet. The stock rear spoiler accentuates the Z very nicely. Just wait a couple more years, I'm sure there will be some nice complementing and accentuating body kits

This is the Oettinger bumper for the Audi A4, why cant they make something thats aggressive but still tasteful like this? German cars always get the best body kits

Yeah, I'm not a fan of body kits. The only one I kinda like is the Nismo one and really, only the wing. I'm not about to pay the 800+ bucks that it would cost to get it, though!

I've always believed that if you're going to alter your car, you need to do it where it counts--the power!
