Default Street Scene Honeycomb Grill ... Install Difficulty ?

Hi all, I was thinking about adding the Street Scene Honeycomb Grill and I noticed that it says it can be installed over the factory grill. Does anyone have any information on how stable that type of installation is? How difficult is it to put in? Does the bumper have to be removed?

TIA!

Yeah, you have to remove the front bumper, its a really simple install tho, and it fits on there very snug, you could probably hit a dog and the grill wouldnt budge. I actually have one for sale if your interested. PM me if you are.

Sure, what did you swap out with? How hard is it to take the bumper off? Does the kit include instructions?

Hum ... I'm looking at my bumper now and ... uhm ... how in the world does this install over the existing setup? It's on an 05ZR.

The grill fits snugly into the existing air intake opening....there are securing clips that require you to unscrew the underside of the airdam/bumper... then use the clips to secure the grill from behind the bumper...instructions and securing clips are provided with the kit.

Do you have a copy of the instructions you could scan? Would like to see what I'm getting into? if it fits snugly, does it risk scratching the finish on the sides/top of the opening?

Regarding scratching the inside of the opening....there is an engineered gap between the inside finish and the grill...

Regarding a copy of the instructions...send me a PM with your e-mail.... I'm pretty sure I kept the instructions....I will scan and e-mail to you....

I installed mine w/o removing the bumper as well. Just required some scrawny arms.

No bumper removal, but damn! putting on those securing clips was awful for me! Anyone else? I was so fed up, I only used like 5 of em. My grill barely moves without clips anyway since the Kaminari front lip I have on makes the fit of the SS grill over the stock grill even more tight.

Take those stupid air guide/ blockers on either side of the grill off first. There used to be a post about them somehwhere ??? Makes the grill easier to install too!
