Default gauging interest in carbon fiber engine cover group buy.

We are wondering if there is any interest in a carbon fiber reproduction of the stock plastic engine cover. These would be made by a very reputable company that already specializes in high-quality carbon parts for Subarus. This part would go into production if there is enough demand for it. We're planning on keeping the stock shape of the cover, but were looking for feedback regarding design from you guys. The retail price of the part will probably range anywhere from $300 to $350. I'm sure we can arrange a special introductory price for the first 10/15 people as soon as we talk to the manufacturer. If you have any interest or ideas, please post your responses. Thanks ..Giovanni and Jeff..

I am not crazy about the CF look but would go for a color matching cover like
Axis did with their yellow Z, I would want Blue.

Some other ideas there as well like the battery and fuse covers

I believe that engine bay (whole car actually) was painted by a Southern California body shop called Wet Works Garage. They speacialize in painting interiors and hard to do flexible parts. I believe they also made the side splitters that are on the car. If you are interested there phone is (714)890-5117 or www.wetworksgarage.com and they might be able to paint up some factory covers and have them shipped out to you guys. Hope that helps, by the way we can also make the carbon covers with a colored kevlar weave in red, blue, yellow, etc. and those can also be painted in a clear paint that looks real trick.

Thanks for information. I just tried to call (3:05 pm EST), but being Christmas eve, I'm sure they are closed.

I sent them an e-mail expressing interest in their taking on the minor project of painting an engine cover, battery cover and brake fluid cover in Brickyard. I'll let y'all know what I hear if and when they reply.

Happy Holidays to All!!

I would go for DB engine cover, battery cover and brake fluid cover, if the painting is as sweet as the yellow!

Can someone try to photoshop the carbon fiber texture
on the engine cover?

I'm curious.

Eh, you guys dont need to send these parts off to get painted. Just go buy some duplicolor from the autoparts store. Clean it well, then spray! Make sure to let it dry then clear coat it. I may do this today
