Default Help with Bat Overlays Tail lights!

I make it flush with the edges from the corner to bottom of the tail light. My problem is right at the trunk trying to get it to lay flat without crease and bubbles all over the top end. Please I need advice, I have my overlay sitting in a bucket of soap and water.....I'm real frustrated right now. I did get my carbon fiber A-B pillars to come out good. I just need help with the tail lights...TIA

Using a hair dryer to heat the vinyl and get it pliable is the key. Once it softens up, it is much easier to get it to go around curves etc...

i personally had better success and control using my fingers instead of a card. do the easy stuff first, then concentrate on making the tough parts lay down using a hair dryer and your fingers.

I tried it with the hair drier and everything and still couldn't get it to lay down without wrinkles on both headlights and both taillights. I guess vinyl laying isn't my thing...

Hey Bat, can I peel them off and try again or will I have to order new ones?

Hey all,

I just put mine on last weekend on my tailights and headlights. Didnt really have a problem. One thing that I did notice is you want to use warm water when you dunk the vinyl in the bucket. Also make sure that you dont heat up the overlay to much with the hair dryer because it does wrinkle easily if its hot.

All and all I would suggest to use as much water as you can that way you can easily relocate if your alignment is off. Also this will give you time to work on one section at a time without the others drying with the bubbles in it.

The tailights did take a while to put on probobly took about 25 - 30 min for each one by the time i was done.

Thought i would throw in my 2 cents.

Question do ya'll have little bubbles in your overlays on your taillights? Will they go away with time or what can I do?

You could have just popped the bubbles with a needle. I took mine off today as well, but thats just because I can't seem to lay them without getting wrinkles.

Ya'll think it could be done professional instead of done FIY better? Do ya'll think tint shops can do it with 5% tint and come out good or will the vinyl be awhole lot better?
