LED tailight bulbs made by Spiderlite
Interesting. Prob is, the Z's tail lights face up, not back. Someone needs to make an LED "globe" with about 30 LEDs facing in all directions for it to really light up our tail light housings. Would have to be dual element, of course...

I'll agree with Acree. I bought them, installed them, and took them out. I had a post on here a while back with some pictures, but I can't find it with the Search. All I can say is that they are a really neat product. Very, very cleaver design. They're sitting on my kitchen counter right now, kind of a discussion piece. I was going to sell them on Ebay, but I just think they're cool, but not bright enough/safe enough to be put for tail lights. BTY, they're not DOT approved.
What happens when they're put into the 350z, is that one of the three arms can be adjusted to face back. The other two pretty much point straight up. They have one LED on the back of the arm to reflect light off the housing, but that isn't enough. At night it sub par at best. Daytime, forget about it.
If Spiderlites would have used a better quality LED or maybe even a better quality design for the LEDs to match their overall brilliant design, this would be a great product and well worth the $$$. I've seen posts on a Chrysler 300m (or C?) where the all the arms point straight back and they still said that they are not bright enough.
Spiderlites: shame on you for developing such a neat unique product and then executing the production of the finally product so poorly. You could have at least made them DOT approved, they would be a great tail light for a Barbie's pink Powerwheels jeep not a street vehicle. (Rant for Spiderlites, but I'm sure they're not reading)

But Acree was replying to my post, not the Original Poster's post.
Acree: What do you think about using the bulb that I posted for front turning singal lights? I don't need fron turn signal lights to be a light house becan, Just something clear when not lit up.

Those spiderlite plug in replacements are interesting, at best. I wouldnt pay money for any plug-in LED replacement.

they could possibly be used for that, but i would say something more like the "Tower" that can be found at http://autolumination.com/7443_7440.htm would be a better bulb to buy for the front turn signal. it has more leds than the spider-lite and i have actually purchased a couple of them. i was going to use them for the rear signal until i did my retro-fit. the tower would work very well for the front turn since it is a chrome housing.
mike, very true about the time, money, and both.
