Anyone have some hi-res pics of this combo. I've never seen the combo in person, so I need some help.

Any opinions? Looking at either the Authentic Do-Luck or Top Secret CF hoods. Looking mainly for opinions on the "looks". I'm aware of the other issues: cost, possible weight savings, venting of the engine bay, etc...

Either hood would be in conjunction with the Do-Luck kit that I have on order.

Just an FYI about something I hadn't thought about till someone pointed it out to me:

Car hoods are engineered to crumple in certain places in the event of an accident. Ever notice that race cars (which use a lot of carbon for bodywork) have a center pillar in the windshield? There's a reason for that. You see...Carbon hoods are not engineered in the same way that the OEM aluminum one is. There are no crumple zones....or designed fail points. In the event of an accident on a normal car....there is a significant chance that the hood will come up and back...between your A Pillars. Guess what...that'll ruin your day.

Now....that being said, Carbon Fiber is really nice stuff. While I haven't seen a black Z with a carbon hood...I have seen a black car with a carbon hood. It looks very nice so long as the hood is good quality and the weave pattern is set right. Be sure that you get an actual Carbon Fiber hood.....not one that is mostly fiberglass.

 

between do-luck and TS, I would go TS.

I'm not as ballin as you are. I only got the Seibon CF VT on my SB Z. (damn that's a lot of abbreviations)

Id go with TS hood, that's if you're able to wait. DOnt think anybody stock these hoods since they're expensive.

I like Z boys fusion hood. i also like the seibon VS hood with the single vent. whatever one that is, i think its vs.

 

guys, pm me your email addy, and i'll send you pix. got the vis fusion hood from an outfit in los angeles called carbon innovations. perf nissan sells them, too; they also sell one that is cheaper but looks good called the terminator, iirc.
