I want to remove the dealer badge from the rear of the car, without damaging the paint. It's a thin metal badge, most likely stuck on with a adhesive backing. I was thinking of heating the badge up with a heat gun and carefully removing it. What do you think?

 

heat it up is fine and then use dental floss. The dental floss is coated and will not hurt your paint. It is also so small it fits between the badge and the body of the car no problem. Use a little adhesive remover to get rid of the goo and touch it up with a little cleaner and wax and your set.

 

+1 wax and polish afterwards
and btw heat it with hair dryer on med

 

Vegas does that silly Stealer badging???? I thought that was more on the east coast than as close as Nevada....Sucks

 

i used a hair dryer.. heat it for a few min. used my nails and got it off no problem.. no scratch, nothing.. as for the left over adhesive.. some nice rubbing on it for a few min will get it right off..

 

Smart idea with the dental floss, ill try with that when im fitting my Fairlaidy Z badge where the 350Z badge is from factory.

make their azz remove it. they put it on, they can take it off! dealers suck salty *****.

 

Use Goo-Gone for the after affects of the sticky adhesive. I used it when I swapped for the Fairlady Z emblem; worked just great.
