Default Question about Seibon VSII hood install

I just installed my hood tonight. First, there is no way the strut bar would fit under the hood. 2nd, even after adjesting the latch to the toppest position, the hood is still really hard to be closed, like it is just low enough to get locked. 3rd, when i release the hood now, it is really loud, way louder than stock.

so my questions are should i get hood pin?? since there should be lot of stress on the latch right now already. Also should be it so loud when I release the hood? And anyone manage to keep the strut bar??

Also anyone find that Seibon clear coat sux?

have you play around with the washer? Hood pin is alwasy a good measure. But base a recent poll, more than half of people using aftermarket hood didn't use hoodpin.

the one that tight up the hood with your car frame. Put one extra washer will raise the hood level up a bit and that will give some room for your strut bar. That what the my bodyshop did on my hood. Take few hours to play around to get it hatching down ok.

You can also adjust the strut bar to offer more clearance. Nissan actually recommends that as the adjustment gauge to where to set the brace. Odd I know considering it is a chassis piece but I guess it is not that important to have perfectly adjusted.

I added some washers to mine, not really that noticeable. I've had 3 CF hoods on 3 different cars, they all make a loud popping noise everytime I pop my hood.

Bomex180, thx for letting me know that the loud noise it normal. You have a VS too?? since even without adding washer, it is like 1mm or so higher than the stock hood already...

I dont have a VS but I've dealt with different kinds/brands of hoods(SEIBON, VIS, MSPORT). Installed them in different cars, all the same outcome.

Can anyone confirm that if i am going make the strut bar to be lower, then the strut bar would be longer or shorter? and would it hurt the car?
also i can not close the hood with the greddy radiator cooling plate, seems like the piece that is holding the latch on the hood is bigger than stock one. anyone has the same problem???
