06 headlights on an 05 base. Dead horse, yeah, but....
I know its been beaten to death, but the answers are fragmented and hard to understand....So, can someone please, please give me a straight forward answer?
If i get new headlights for my base z (uses just halogens) and i get the 06 HID headlights (THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHTS) how do i go about wiring them up? Anyone done this? Anyone have wiring schematics for the 05 base and 06 z?
Please see my other posts about why i want to buy entire headlights and not just an HID kit.... I basically ruined the clearness of my headlights by trying to open them and clean the inside of the lens (the clear headlight lens) It created ungodly swirls and scratches and created a film, so they are ruined (i tried the plastic polishes too!).
I'm trying to be as clear as possible as the other posts that have tried to answer this, get responses about just getting an HID kit. I don't want a kit, i want to buy the entire 2006 OEM headlights from a dealer (or online dealer) but i need to know what else i will need or what to do in order to get it to work. Thanks so much.

Greetings and salutations.
I read your post, and hopefully can shed a little light on the subject (no pun intended).
I am a auto claims adjuster and have been for several years.
I can tell you this, the best thing to do is go by your local dealership and see if it is possible to switch out the head lamps. Now the scamatics, size wise appear the '05 and the '06 should be the same, however with the new '06 bi xeon system is a newer type that may require different wiring. I do know that the head lamp wiring starts from the base of the head lamp and goes to the fuse box, which is close to the firewall. Then there is the wiring that goes from the fuse box through the firewall and to the headlamp switch on on the steering column. You should not have to mess with this wiring, but you may have to replace the wiring from the head lamps to the fuse box. If that is the case and you aren't mechanically inclined, I would recommend you taking your vehicle to a local body shop and for a small fee they can probably replace the lamps for you.
So here is the 'To Do List' if I was in your position:
1. Call your local Nissan dealer and ask them if they can replace the halogen lamps to the new bixeon lamps.
2. If so, order the lamps through an after market dealer instead of the Nissan dealership (you can get them cheaper)
3. Go to a local reputable body shop and ask them if they will reinstall the head lamps for you. (This is called 'Remove and Replace' proceedure) It should take no more than 2 hours, at $40 an hour. (rates do change pending on the state you live in). Always remember you can weal and deal with the shops.

Thanks man, i have actually succeded in doing this swap last night. I didn't have to change any wiring and when i had the lamps on for 20 min the wiring was still bone cold.
