Default My Hand made Aluminium Grill.

I have had this on since last summer, but I never got arround to posting up pics. I made these by hand bending Aluminium U-channel over a plywood arc and cut them with a miter saw to give it a nice, angled cut on each end. They are screwed in from below using bolts that hold them on with Pressure, but do not go through the OEM fins. They are easily removable if I need to get to my tow hook too. Total Outer thickness of each band is 1/2 Inch. (Each side is 1/2 inch actually)

What do you think?

Looks clean and a pretty creative idea, I spent $100 bucks on a grill and now look like a goon.

I was going for a bit thicker, it really does look better in person.. The Door Strips were just too narrow and didn't look right IMO. Plus they kept comming off on me.

Thank you, I almost spent the money on one of those billit jobs on ebay, but I thought I would do something different more to my style.

Thanks

Polishing isnt a bad Idea at all. The Aluminum is smooth as silk right now though and the color blends well with the wheels and door handles. Maybe I should get them Anodized?

Well as the aluminum gets exposed to the air and environment, it will just continue to dull. I'd suggest a clear coat at least.
