It's very easy to take off the stock mirrors.. take off the door panel.. take out the triangle "tweeter" thing.. then unclip the power harness for the mirror and unbolt 3 screws that are holding the mirror in.. I think it would take me about 30 min per side to install these mirrors if i take my time..

Cheston.. can you weigh the mirrors too? Stock vs. the new ones..

thanks,

i'm gonna see first stock height and if i dont like it i'll chop.. so far they dont seem too high- i'm more worried about vibration

I wanted the lower ones too but damn, the prices on these is just too much of a difference to the CS... i can use the xtra money to anodize the base!

et all: i'll post install picts when i get em on!

i got mine today. didn't think they were going to show though. friggin' UPS arrived at 7:40pm. anyway, opened the package right away and can say that i am very impressed with the product. can't wait to put them on. i will have the bases painted semi-gloss black and cleared first. Carbon fiber weave and quality are top notch IMO!

not sure how cutting the stock will help with the height. the inside edge is of the mirror is already VERY close to the base. if you had a flatter stock then maybe but then the mirror would be pushed out away from the car and still might look funny. the craft square ones with the shorter stems enter the mirror at the lower inside corner and not at the bottom of the mirror. curious to see if someone pulls it off.

anyway, my pre-install observation is GREAT PRODUCT. Post-install observations coming...to be continued...

Mirror install instructions, from FSM

Edit: I'm researching how to change the height-looks like we can just remove the bent black stem from the ball joint, and just put in a shorter stem, and using a mini bender turn both 90* up to allow the lowering of the mirror, however, i need to find a threaded sleeve that we can bend!
