i also installed the mirrors on the Z today:

some interesting notes:

1. the base isnt exactly perfectly aligned when installed. there is a slight gap between the door and the base of the mirrors.
2. adjustment for the mirrors are a *****..
3. they're kinda high.. i definately will need to cut and lower the angled stem for sure.
4. they look sick. the aluminum on DB matches the handles, but perhaps painting them black or DB would look better-
5. Install was straight forward. i put the clear plastic things after i put the long bolt in through the base, to keep the bolt from sliding out, then i put the metal sleeves, and then the door followed by the nuts. don't over tighten! else you risk bending in the door. its fairly thin.

picts tomorrow-

If you cut the stem that you have, we need a good write-up.

If you are making a new stem to replace the original, then you'll have to make two.

I am concerned about the viewing, do these give a good "in focus" rear view?
Thanks for your answer below.

driver side is great. its the 'wider' view, not 1:1 scaling like the rear view mirror is.. you can see cars in your blind spot.. just damn my lower seats haha. i have to tilt the passenger side mirror down just slightly to see.

buzzard: yes. definately on the write up- do you have a die & tap set?

Looking good Cheston, one pic the height of the stem looks tolerable, then the next pic it looks way too high.

What are your initial impressions with height? Do you still plan to lower?

Car looks hawt!

OT-Who bought out Stoptech? I'm ordering the ST-40 and being told there will be a significant wait because it's crazy over there, since the buyout.

^^^ Centric Parts... people who make Axxis Metal Masters i think..
its a good move.. it will allow StopTech larger capital to keep more things in inventory and they can pursue larger projects... turned them into a very large company overnight!

BUzz: height.. seems. ok. just have to get used to it. i think i still want to lower it some- but they are at eye level- so i dont have to look down to see-

What do you guys think of keeping the base "as is" to kinda match the handles on my SB. I saw SuperHungs painted base pics, but it looks as if his door handles are painted as well.
