Which is why IMO it would be a better decision to just cough up the money and have the car shipped or drive it to their shop in NJ. I don't even want to think about how much money it would cost to havea new roof put on then cut again or whatever may or could happen if an installer messed up. I don't think the rear will catch too much air just because of the shape of the roofline but I guess I will find out soon enough. You save a lot of money if you are the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. though. You can look at their work with the mustangs and tell that they aren't going to destroy your car. I just can't wait to drive around Ocean City and Atlantic City with a Lambo Alpine Mastergrade Widebody, 19 High Polish 6 1/2 lip HRE, Targa Top Z this summer. Probably recieve enough tickets/citations to pay for another Targa Top but hey it will be worth it. To help you all better envision your Z with a Targa: The top will be cut about 1" to 1 1/2" from the front windshield (I think they are using the weatherstripping from a Z Roadster), and right from where the end of the windows on the doors are if you roll them up.

Interesting if its only $2600 w/o install might be able to find a place closer because thats a two day drive or $400 one way shipping.

The Transportation they use I believe costs about $1400 to ship across country. It was only going to cost me $350 to ship it from Va to NJ.

I agree, the 350ZR looks SICK AS HELL with the top down, but I think the soft top is kinda ugly.

The targa will probably look SICK AS HELL all the time. And the price between going targa or getting a vert will be not too different.

About the rain. It's going to be very important to have this top removable and stowable in the rear hatch for such instances. However dont most targas have a little vinyl like sheet you can pull across also or is that in replacement of a hardtop cover? On another note ive driven my z with sunroof open in some pretty serious rain and not much water got in at all. And if there is a wind deflector on the forward/windshield side even less would. My 2 cents

I don't know how altered atmosphere would be granted exclusivity to this..there is a company in NJ that already does this for mustangs...and has a kit for the 350z

http://www.jmsproductsinc.com/

And if this is the company doing it for you...I'm sure that they would sell direct...I've talked to the owner on a couple different occasions
