Well unlike most of you im sure i could fit it since i have no spare tire and ahve removed the carpeting and support in the trunk. Gutted basically but i think the piece could fit under the crossbeam

I was thinking if you angled it under the cross beam, then up on top of the plastic behind the seats it would fit. Looks like enough room... But I am just guessing with my eyes.

Dunno because underneath all the crap in the forward part of the trunk is a black type of styrofoam. Only issue is really the portion under the spare whuch is bare metal. Assuming the piece doesnt angle too far down into that pit you could simply devise some type of padding. Who knows. I just think without making it a practical change this mod will be much less useful unless they can come up with some type of temp fix if you dont have the hardtop with you. Being in florida i want to know that i at least have some type of security if it starts to rain hard and the top is off.

Looking at it again today the top would be a fairly big sized piece so then you have an issue of securing the piece so its not moving all around in transit. Kind of disappointing upon further review but two pieces would look stupid on the same token. I suppose dealing with speculation is a waste of time. On to the pics!

btw if anyone has called with questions have they given any type of eta for completion time for a kit once they have done this? I would imagine a week tops. I've two sunroofs installed in 2 z's and neither took a full day and thats quite a intricate process also. No issues whatsoever with either. I don't want too much downtime since i would take this to the shop that first did it. Not taking any chances with the locals on something like this.

Out of curiosity what happened with the chromed out Z? The frame will be stable since for one I don't think the Z's roof aids much in making the frame rigid and there will be uderbody bracing as well.

oh lol no I assure that is not the case here. It's taken my car since October to get to where it is today and all should finally be done in the next month. The car is at Iron Man Customs getting the targa installed and Lambo Alpine Blue paint put on and my wheels are being custom built at HRE right now-don't know when the tires are coming but it shouldn't be much more than a week or two for those as well.

I talked to Jay at Iron Man yesterday. Lead times on the targa will all depend on how many pre-orders they receive because they are receiving orders now on the Mustangs they do.

I'm about 90% sure I'm going to pre-order the targa, the only thing holding me back is what to do with the top. I will call again later and see if they have come up with any solutions. If so I'm putting down the deposit.

Exactly why I've been telling people to pre-order now so that it will be done in time for summer and at the reduced rate. Plus, with the mustang people it will only become harder to get a spot.
