This thread is not useless. A member is simply stating his experience with a Company/vendor. You take it for what it is. Sometimes threads like these will pressure a vendor into doing the right thing.

And other times like now the buyer is impatient and unwilling to accept the fact that its out of the vendors hands. There isn't much they can do to force the hand of Avalon. Thats where this thread is useless, there is nothing any of the parties can do unless you can personaly give carbon cloth to INGS and watch them make his part and ship it.

Now if this thread was as originaly posted in that Avalon just dropped the guys order, they were not talking, and they basicly gave him the big ole middle finger; then yes it would be a good idea. This is by no means the case, this guy has been told several times the situation and he is unwilling to accept the facts. The buyer has the responsibility to follow up and the seller has the responsibility to get them there parts in as timely maner as they can. From all that was posted Avalon is fullfilling their end of the deal and on top of that having to defend there practices against an impatient customer thatis unwilling to accept the facts at hand. Importing parts is always an issue thats a fact period.

Bottom line if you give up on contacting the company you give up the money. Its the buyers responsiblilty to follow up on there orders; especialy online orders.

This thread is now only a sounding post for an impatient buyer who has unreasonable expectations for the seller to fullfil his order on his time line, not on real world situations. Bottom line this thread is useless and I will keep saying it until its closed. This is a private mattter that is made public because of the unwillingness to accept the facts.

The vendor has obviosuly steppe dup and tried to explain the situation to the OP. That is the "right thing" for that vendor to do. If the OP cannot accept the fact that there is a LARGE LEADTIME on these items he can have a refund as posted by the vendor.

This thread has turned into nothing more than a whining session for the OP who obviously doesn understand lead times, Importing or material shortages.

Thats what I was saying.

Even though I had an outragouse lead time for all my parts, I total understood the the fact that I was waiting on almost $10,000 of parts to be sourced individualy. Despite unexpected delays I was always told straight, "We dont know what going on with the vendor, We are waiting for more parts to come in at once to save on shipping, etc." If I called and asked them that is, they are a bigger company that does alot of business, they cant take the time to call each and every customer. More than likely they do weekly or bi-weekly account consolidations to see which accounts are outstanding and why. The information then would be saved for when the customer calls to check on their order. At least thats my understanding of corperate business acounts and customer service models.

I do understand lead times and the fact that these parts are coming from overseas...But as you stated in "good business" if you tell a paying customer a date range and do not live up to it regardless of lead times and whatever then it is their obligation to do what they need to do to get the parts here. I have been very patient with Avalon on emails and the phone. You obviously do not know what is being told to me when they email me back and forth.

I will not ask for a refund on my deposit because as I already stated I do not wish to start from day 1. As a business owner if I tell a client that they are going to get their money to buy a home in 4 to 5 weeks and I don't come through with their loan then what do you think I can tell them?? Oh sorry Mr. and Mrs. Z but the banks did not get to your file yet so and I have no idea when we will receive the clear to give you your loan.....Come on guys wake up....

Um business owners dont loan the money banks do, banks are not sourcing there money from another country. They have money that is available to them for loans so kinda bad example. Thats more like dealing with AAM for one of their products.

With the estimate that was given to you for shipping that was accurate at that time, other wise there would not have been an order placed. But since they again rely on another company that they source their parts from thats in another country the lead time give is an estimate thats dynamic. This last comments you posted show that you accept the fact that you have a longer lead time but you dont understand. Understanding is the key, if you under stood what was going on then this post wouldnt be you whining and us telling you to be stop whining.

Yes this is America and yes you do have your rights, but its when your rights infringe on others, bordering on slander and just plain annoying, that it needs to be moderated. Hints the individuals called MODERATORS. You were saying I havnt read emails or heard calls, but you are quick to post small snipits of facts that try to make you look better in this ordeal.

Yeah I would understand if it was just me, but its not there are others out there that feel the same way about what your doing. It's like a little kid that tells parts of the truth to make some one belive them.

And as for your @ss kissing comment, I havnt had contact with them since my last part came in. I am loyal to my wallet, if some one has a better price they are my store for the day. I would be at the side of any other store be it AAM, Forged Performance, CJM or who ever if they had the same deal and it look shady from the buyers end. Hell I would be right there behind the buyer if it looked like they were getting screwed.

So yeah your comment:

Banking locally and ordering custom parts from Japan.

Best comparison I have seen.

We will not reply to this anymore. Waste of time. We will continue to work the order with the vendor and get it in as best as possbile. We have no control over when they ship.

When we sell we can only state the lead times provided to us at the time.

Intersting thought on banks. The last house I built we closed on th eloan and then the builder had to add an extra month for delays in parts, lik eth ecustom faucets from Europe.

I have never had problems with Avalon Racing. They are one of the best vendors on here IMO.

OP- Just be patient... I can see your getting annoyed, but either way you will have to wait.
