Default Varis intake duct and rain...is it ok?

I've been thinking about buying the Varis bumper intake duct but since I'm in the rain capital of the US I'm worried if it's ok to drive your car in heavy rain seeing that it would go directly to the popcharger/intake. Is this something to be worried about?

no problem. i have it.

the whole bypass valve thing cracks me up... it ONLY works when the entire filter is submerged in water. it does NOT do anything for splashes or sprays. AEM marketing ftw lol.

It rains here everyday and I've had no problem. After you install it you'll see that hydrolock won't be an issue from rain drops. If you hit a puddle where water pours into the Varis air duct...God bless you!

I'm not worried about rain drops but heavy downpour...and having it rain everyday for months...as it's not uncommon in Seattle for it to rain for months straight. I have the popcharger but I'm talking about the intake duct rectangle hole thing in the bumper...you can't by a bypass valve for that

I would'nt worry about it. It got one and haven't had a problem, and it rain very hard for about a month and a half here. It rained so much I thought I was going to have to build an ark. lol

Cover the duct with tape if it starts raining.

No problems observed with rain and the Varis duct.
However, I do take precaution when washing the Z to stuff the duct with material just in case.
