Default HID's

Ok..

WARNING: there is a plethora of questions after this line...dont say I didnt warn ya' =)

who has converted their NON HID headlamps to HID?

What kit did you go with?
Cost?
Where did you get it?
Ease of installation?

Im going to have the front bumper off to do my new Sidemarker install, will this make it easier? (Should I do both at the same time?)

P.S. can someone throw up a link to a "how to" on easy front bumper removal?

Thanks!

I would not buy from him at all, check out his last couple of ebay feedbacks all been negative. I recieve the wrong size and it was a 2month ordeal until I recieve the right sizes after threatening to file fraud and FBI report. In addition of my lights are turning yellow and I dont even want to bother with his waranty because he dosent honoer it.

I have been in contact w/ him....his email's we're down for a WHILE

but mine has turned yellow as well,.only one of them,..the other is GREAT--he told me that to figure if it was the ballast or the bulb---so I switched the bulbs and it is the bulb...now he;s sending me another bulb---18mth warranty though

Blub all of a suddne lost its color a mth agao,..and I've had em for 2-3mths---WEIRD,..ballast seems fine but bulb is the problem--I will try one more bulb but if teh other goes bad then I will Demand a Refund!! His emails we're down though,.I've talked to him 3 times in the past week!

Default HID upgrade

Some folks (in the f-body groups in particular) advise against "bulb only" upgrades. The refelctors behind HID bulbs are shaped differently than they are for halogen bulbs.

Just my $.02

Do a search under '8000K Xenon' in this forum so you can get a feel for my HIDs.

Yeah, I'm in the same situation.
I'd like to upgrade to HID, but I don't really want to do it myself - afraid I would mess something up. But there are no shops around here that know how to put one in.

If you install one yourself, take a lot of pictures!

I've been looking around for what kit to get and was thinking about misterjung, but it seems like his bulbs are not the best. I have seen more than a few people who have had them change colors or not have the two match color.

I would get a kit that uses both philips bulbs and ballasts.

i installed misterjung's 7000k hid about a month ago. installation wasn't that bad but i hope my bulbs don't lose their color in a couple months. the ballast is hella but maybe the bulbs are generic, anyone know what company makes the bulbs?

His bulbs(mrjung's) are custom bulbs w/ HELLA balasts--if you notice they are shaped to fit just like the Halogen bulb..not a regular Bulb...thats what I Like about em so much!

The base of the bulb is like the stock BASE MODEL bulb---but I have been in contact and will be gettin anothe rbulb and if it goes out again,..I will demand a refund! They are Great color wise--just one of mine went out--the other his going strong & lookin great!

But I like TXSTYL's new bul;b,..might keep the MrJUng ballast and get that bulb!!! Those are phatty!

INstall is simple really--the wiring is the hardest part--drill a 1/4 to 1/2 inch circle(hole) in that Circle plastic peice and thats the hardest part--everything else just pops and clicks and plu's and your done!! you have to ground the Blk wire to the body of the car instead of where your supposed to plug it in...abd thats simple--I will be replaceing the bulb in mine soon a see if I can make a "sticky" thread for the install w/ pic's!

You'll see..nothing to it!but to do it!
