Default airbag light blinking after seat removal/reinstall

Welp, took out the passenger seat last weekend at the track, and I ahve the seat airbags, so I disconnected the clips.

Well, of course the airbag light started blinking as I expected. After reinstalling the seat, it stayed on but I figured it'd go away after a few start/stops of the motor. Anyways fast foward to yesterday, I pulled the codes (typical O2 codes for turbo cars) and reset them. But the airbag light is still on.

Think a full ECU reset would fix it? I know for a fact the connectors are installed properly on the seat....

Try unplugging the battery over night and trying again in the morning - this has been reported to work.

yeah I figure if that doesn't work I have to go back and check the wiring in the harness and make sure all is well. Maybe throw in some dielectric grease.

If you unplug the air bag harness and plug the battery back in while it is not connected the air bag light will come on and I am prety sure that it will not reset on its own... You have to reset the light with the consolt...

There have been many threads on airbag light reset. IIRC, ECU reset takes care of it, but search and you shall find!

No a reset will not work you have to wire a relay to get the light to shut off.

Theres a thread on it by Cheston, I made three relays already on my car and some friends it works great

BNext time you track it just stick a 2ohm resistor inline and the light won't trigger then remove it when you reinstall your seat.
