who has molded their sideskirts?
i'm thinking of molding them in this weekend since they need to be color-matched better than the job nissan did. who's done this and is there anything i should know? my friend that does my body work said it's guranteed to crack because the fenders and sideskirts are two different materials. What do you guys think?
Anyone want to try a photoshop?
Here's a pic of my car for reference...you can see how the sideskirts (among other parts that will be getting resprayed) are way off:

Worst case scenario: you get into an accident, sideskirt needs to be replaced......but it's molded. Think 'bout it. Not that it will happen, but it may, and it's gonna cause a huge headache. My 2 cents. Whatever makes you happy though, because it is YOUR car. Nice rims btw. I likey.

well, keep in mind the car is not driven on a daily basis. if something does happen, then the insurance will fix it. i don't think it would be too hard to change out a sideskirt if it were molded to the car...just pull on the sideskirt and you will see the molding start to crack.

Don't do it. I though the rx-7 i had would look good with the molding. It did look great, but after one part started to crack, the whole molding started comming off. It was a pain to get it redone. Not worth teh time. I had sides and back skirts molded and it started comming off.
