Default HID Lights

Okay, I'm probably going to catch a lot of **** for not knowing alot about this and/or not doing a thorough search of the forums but meh.

Anyway, I need to know what it will take for my car to have the bright white/ blue light. I'm looking at getting 10000k out of it. But what is it that I need to buy? Will I need a kit? or just bulbs? Thanks.

I believe there is a lighting section of the boards. From there you'll find all this info plus a billion times more. I don't remember off hand, but i know FOR SURE what you're looking for will be covered there.

10000K would be purple. Stock HID's basically on all cars are ~4300k, this is white and provides the most lumens (light output). The higher in temperature (Kelvins) you go the color changes to blues/purples and actual light output drops. below 4300k light turns to yellow.

I would never go above 6000k IMHO, this will be more of a "blue" light than a stock HID, just realize that optics are what create sharp blues and purples at the cutoff, not the bulb.

If you wany blue and good quality bulb Phillps 6000K will do the job. 10,000K is not blue by any means.
