Default Just got my Veilside CF lip... just want to share with you guys!

Just got it fitted around noon today!

After coming home, found that the car can JUST get into my garage with only 1 cm clearance between the lip and my drive way! lucky me!

Enjoy the these selected pics!

cheers,

richie

The price..... is 1K aussie dollars for this VeilSide Version 1 Carbon Fibre lip.... which is around 600 USD. The CF lip is a bit THIN in my opinion! I used to have all the CF parts from AC Schnitzer for my BMW m3.... the quality of parts is A LOT different from the Jap CF parts! but I like the look...

cheers,

richie

Angry outrageous

Can't believe how expensive that is for a "sort-of" carbon fiber piece. It looks pretty good, but it is just random-fiber fiberglass behind a thin layer of woven carbon fiber. The look of a CF piece without the benefits.

ho hum.

Thats it, Im getting it. I was contemplating it a month ago, but needed some real pics. Looks great man, but paint it...not a fan of exposed carbon fiber parts.

I think the FRP piece is around 825 AUS dollars.... you can then convert it back to USD!

If you are planning to get it painted, I think you should just get the FRP one instead of the CF one!

cheers,

no that my friend is all carbon fiber. If it was FRP with a layer on of Carbon, then it would be much thicker, and you wouldn't see that weaving on the back. Don't forget Australian $ is roughly half that of US$. That same CF piece retails in the US for $464.00, $384.00 in FRP . Seem like a fair price to me.

Dude, just look at the picture. You can see that the inside is fiberglass. See the long chopped fibers. You can still see the CF weave from the back because the fiberglass layer is quite clear. Why do you say it would be thicker? FRP construction does not imply a thickness. In fact, both CF and FRP laminates can be very thin.

I'm not saying that it's not a structurally sound piece, just that it's made in a way that the CF is more for looks than function.

Doubtful. It may produce a miniscule bit of downforce, but I think it is mainly cosmetic.

I don't think there will be any down force effect if you travel within the legal speed limit... you will only get down force once you are traveling well over 170 km/hr for most of the kit... and I get the kits just for pure cosmetic effect on the car, not for the down force... well.. it looks much better than the stock standard front though... much sportier I would say!

cheers,

richie

That lip, painted to match your CS, plus some chrome door-sill guards on the grille, would look fantastic.
