Default Question about the heater

I'm not sure if my car's heater is normal or not. When I have the temp control set to it's lowest setting I get the usual cold air flowing in the car. However, if I move it just one click warmer, the car tends to get a bit too warm. It seems like there is no "happy medium". I think the culprit are the center vents blowing hotter than normal air.

Anyone else have this issue?

Are you pulling cold air from outside?
Its possible that the air conditioning is ON.

350z are notorious for heater problems.. sometimes it goes cold... sometimes it just seems ridiculously hot. it's a design flaw..

A/C is off. Yes, I'm pulling cold in from the outside.

That's what I've been noticing.

I do. But I shouldn't have to.

Mine started doing the same thing. I wonder if it has something to do with it getting colder outside. I noticed mine start to do this after it started to get really cold up here in VA.

If the car doesn't move then hot air doesn't get vented through and it just blows cold. Also, I hate having the a/c turn on automatically if I just wanted to recirculate the system.

Can the dealership do anything about this problem? My friend's Z has the exact same problem, but mine is perfectly fine and I usually keep it at about 75. He has to keep his at 65 otherwise it's like full blast heater.

I'm sure they could fix it but my warranty has expired and I don't feel like paying out the *** for something I can live with.

I'm beginning to think that there is a solonoid or something that's sticking. Some days the heater works fine, other days it blasts too much warm air. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong??

When I try to blow in fresh ambient (outside) air, it is ALWAYS warmer than the ambient temp. Pretty sure it picks up heat under the hood. I have to run AC if I want to drive with the windows up as soon as temp gets above 55 or 60, even with the temp control at the minimum. Design flaw for sure.

So I was going to ask, theres no way to have the heater on with it not having to bring in air from the outside, I mean its COLD outside, why bring in air, should just recirculate, but for some reason mine doesnt recirc unless the air is on

Only the AC will recirculate air - pretty sure that is the way it has been on most of my recent vehicles. Not a big deal to me, it still heats it and fresh is better than stale air IMHO anyway.
