Default Best carbon fiber hood and carbon fiber pillars

Hey guys I am wanting to purchase a carbon fiber hood and carbon fiber pillars for my car but am curious as to which brand has the best quality/look... I had a set of carbon pillars on my previous car and they seemed to get really nasty after a few months im assuming from the rain and moisture or possibly the sun... does anybody know which brand for the z is the best for pillars/hood... i was looking at the varis, seibon and jdm nismo ones... thanks

Seibon makes some good hoods. I have them in stock and on sale until the 31st. Follow the link in my signature.

Check the vendors section for all your needs.

Evo-R makes great B-pillars that match the weave of the 2x2 cf hoods. The Nismo ones are nice, but they are 1x1 weave and about 2X the price.

No one makes a good cf hood besides Top Secret and Varis. Seibon and all the other copy manufacturers make substandard quality fitting hoods. As far as the pillar pieces go, Nismo and Varis are top choice.

and c west, and hks kansai, and others too - the ones that fit the best, cost significantly more than the rest out there

NISMO B pillars are top notch - MUCH better fit than the Varis ones (I've had both)

Just because they cost more doesn't mean they fit better. (veilside)

Asuka makes a nice hood, but is a bit more.

The fitment on, for example, the C West is 100% spot on. No unusual gaps, no playing the latch (on any I've fit here), no slotting the brackets...it simply bolts in place as if Nissan themselves made it. Also many of the very expensive carbon hoods are carbon/carbon, not carbon over FRP - so they weigh significantly less than stock (many carbon hoods are actually slightly heavier than stock) as an added bonus. That construction and fitment, of course, come with a premium price tag as well.

Have you seen the fitment of the Asuka up close? Nothing to write home about there either, and its not even all that cheap. The only decent fitting one I've seen was the one at SEMA, and it left something to be desired as well.

Yes, I saw the fitment on the Asuka hoods, not the best. What I'm saying is that I have seen Veilside hoods (which is why I put Veilside) fit horribly. Im sure there's a few members who can attest to that. I have also seen $1800 mugen hoods fit terribly. Just because your dishing out $2000 don't expect 100% perfection, because you may not get it.

For $550 Seibon hoods are good quality, you can't deny that. So, where am I wrong?

didn't see the veilsidein your comments before ....they are iffy on fitment of their hoods; some are good, some not

like most things, especially with this car (much more than any other car I've owned/modded over the years) comes down largely to how much you have to spend. This community, as a whole, wants abargain...and they will pay any price to get one (phrase copied from a well known car guy, but holds very true in the Z world IMHO)
