Default How much to paint brakes?

How much do you guys think it would cost to have the brakes painted red. And also what type of paint would you think they'd use, (so they dont bubble when under extreme heat). I know its not necessary but it would look great, even nicer than the orange brembos on the track model, maybe have them make a little white Z on it too.
But tell me about how much you think, or know it would cost? Thanks........

It is easy, and you should be able to do it yourself. You can do it with the calipers still on the car, just make sure to tape EVERYTHING. Use high temp engine paint, or some companies make some cool paint for calipers (glossy/gel), Foliatec (sp?) is one of the companies, and it is a kit that runs about 40 bucks. If you pay someone, maybe $100. It will take about 4+ hours.

Another way to change your brake color, although personally I'm going with Brembos.

The Big Brake Kit is not for the 350Z, so who knows what color the stillen (AP Racing) kit will be, I am certain they will have one.

Change Calipers? In general yes, obviously they will have to have the proper mounting holes/plates. You may not be able to use a 10 pot caliper, but a 6, or possibly 8, will be available for sure. It will not effect ABS, or any of the other brake dist, etc....

There will be kits that come with Calipers, pads, lines, rotors, even fluid in some cases....

Stealin, you mean.... regardless there will be better bang for the buck deals out there. The Stillen kit will be $3000+, and you will be able to get a good kit for half that.

I have spoken with a couple of local paint pros in the Phoenix area about painting the brakes. They both told me that it will look great for the first 1000 miles, then the paint will bubble and peel. Even the high temp engine type paint. Reason is that paint is only good up to 500 degrees, brakes get much hotter than that. If you go out to the track to run your Z33, forget it you'll lose the paint almost immediately, the brakes will run up to almost 1000 degrees.

I got thm done a few months ago for $150. It took 6 hours and it looks great. Highly recomended. Ive put on about 1500 miles since then, and theyre totally fine. The only thing is brake dust, but not much you can do about that. The snow actually cleaned em up pretty nicely...........
