I called my local dealer today to order the nismo sides. After giving him my VIN he said that they will not fit my car because there's a slight differance with the 2006's. He said it requires drill holes and bondo to make it work. I told him that I thought he was confusing the front lip with the sides. But he said the only nismo body part that will fit without modification is the rear deck spoiler. He went on and told me they were actually sued by someone that orderd the parts for his 2006 and had to spend a lot of money at a body shop for the install. I really think he is just misinforme. Can someone confirm for me for sure that this is a direct bolt on.

 

I hate ordering parts from Nissan, I ordered bolts for my rear OEM Brembo's and they told me my car didnt come with Brembo's and I said DUH MOther&^#*! why do you think I am ordering the bolts!!

Moral of the story. You are the cu$tomer "$$$" they have the parts. You pay them , they give you a part. Should be no hassle.

I am almost 100% certain they didnt change the chassis enough to warrant those not to fit, I think that parts guy was smoking crack.

no, they should fit on your car. that is my understanding.even the oem ones look to be the same part number in the fische, being coupe or roadster.

 

They fit fine. Sides and Rear bumper haven't changed, why would it be any different? The guy is clueless.
The only thing that changed was the front bumper.

Beldugod562 has them on his 06.

 

I guess that dealer just has some misunderstanding concerning the fitment of the nismo sides. I just found another post from someone that was told the same thing by the very same dealer

I have the 2006 and have the sides and rear nismo body parts installed. The dealer probably got confused because the front bumper lip DOES NOT fit the 2006. Your only options are:

1. get a new 2005 bumper and install V1 nismo lip.
2. Get a V2 nismo front bumper (that what I have)
3. Go after market and get a replica of the nismo front lip or some other front lip.

That's what I tried to tell the guy...He firmly believed that he was correct. When I went in to order the sides he made me agree that I understood that they would not fit without bondo work

 

Just to be sure...I am in no way bashing this dealership. They have always been great to me and many other Z owners that I know of. It's just for some reason or another they were misinformed somewhere along the line regarding the nismo body parts.

 

You should make him agree that if they do he'll pay for the paint work.
