Halogen bulb replacement
Hi, This is my first post here and I have some quick question regarding replacement of the standard halogen headlight bulbs on a 03 base model.
The car isn't actually mine, it belongs to my Mother who asked me about replacing one of the bulbs as the dealer wanted to charge about $100 apparently, since I'll be home for spring break I figured I'd have a look. So I'm somewhat familiar with the car but I don't have extensive knowlege of it.
I did some searching and found a few useful posts but I just want to be clear on a few points first.
1) I've heard some people talk about having to take of the bumper cover, and others just the inner fender. I was wanting to be sure that it is either or and not both. If it is either or I'd prefer to just do the latter if possible.
2) I found this thread detailing the removal of the headlight assemblies and bulbs and it speaks of an upper and a lower bulb. Are they refering to the park lights or are there actually two main headlight bulbs? This diagram was for the xenons though, so it that is indeed the case do the standard halogen models have two bulbs also?
I've never really looked hard but I think I've only seen one main headlight bulb but I'm not sure.

3) And just to be sure, from what I've gathered the standard bulb is an H7 correct.
Thanks in advance guys, glad to be a part of the forum.

You don't remove the bumper cover. Jack up the corner, remove the wheel, take out the screws by the top of the fender edge and the three push-pins and pull down the front fender well liner. Then remove the grey, circular dust cap from the back of the headlight to access the bulbs (twist and pop it off).
There are two halogen bulbs, one for the low beams, behind the "projector" lens and one for the high beam below it. It is the low beam that is H7, I think and the high beam is a different typw of bulb (don't recall it's number). If you're replacing everything, Sylvania Silverstars are pretty good and much whiter than standard bulbs.
