Who is making CF Hoods so far?
Since I am on the quest of losing some weight for the car, I was wondering what companies have CF hoods out so far. I know Kaminari (SP) has one avalible but wasn't sure who else was producing a carbon hood. Also does anyone happen to know the weight specs of our stock hoods?

Is veilside's hoods all cf? I have been trying to find this out. Their site just states "lightweight bonnet."
Thanks

How much weight are you gonna save with the CF hood? The stock is pretty light already, unless its like 50lb saving I don't really see the point of dumping all that cash for a CF hood. Rather save it for the twin turbos, that'll be more of a performance upgrade than the CF hood.

I still like the idea of lightening up the rear hatch - that thing does weigh a lot! Someone mentioned it a few months/weeks ago and I haven't heard anything since.
Would be curious if anyone's looked in to that piece for some weight savings.

Plus they look cool!

Varis makes one as well, and the Veilside hood is FRP, not carbon fiber
I imagine a lightweight FRP or carbon rear hatch isnt too far away from some manufacturer - keep checking the site for updates.
I don't understand the viewpoint that the carbon fiber hood "looks cool." To me, it gives the appearance that you've visited a scrapyard for parts to replace your hood, being unable to find one the same colour as your car. If you think about it as a performance piece, to me it's still completely out of place and ugly. Personally, I might as well trade the car in for an STi and get the whole car some ugliness.

Well I know ViS Racing in southern california makes alot of oem style CF Hood for alot of vehicle. Maybe if I get the chance, I can drop by and ask about CF Hood. I used to be sponsor by them when I had mine 6th gen AV6. So hopefully I can bring some good news.
as of today VIS has a hood which is already sold sorry to say but they will be getting more, there is a possibility though they may have another from what i know. they have some other fun goodies to and i know they will be displaying the hood at the Stillen show on 6/7 if anyone wants to see it
