Default Opening up the tailights???

OK, so I am attempting to paint the inner housing of the '06 JDM tails. I need to open the tailight. I planned on following the instructions from the headlight DIY by putting them in an oven to loosen the silicone, but it requires you to remove all hardware and electronics. It appears that you cannot remove all of the hardware and electronics from the tails. So my question is: Does anyone know what damage could be done to the electronics if they were exposed to 250 degree heat for about 7 minutes or so?

Thanks for any help...

Ive been wanting to do this to a pair of JDM lights, so it would be blacked out, but with the clear lens (just like the blackout headlights).

Anyways, I backed my headlights with the Leds inside, and they still work fine, but Im not sure if the tails Leds are different

I might try it with a heatgun instead so that I can control where the heat goes...

If they are anything like the G35 tailights, you have to dremel them apart

After you remove all the loom , all you have left on the 06s is the LED wire. On the 06s, I watch my oven temp closely and reassembly using a heat gun.

The LED wire is just 4 inches long or so and goes to the LED side marker and circuit board. Keep in mind, on a hot day with the lights on, the temp may very well be close to 200 degrees

Yeah, I've heard the tails don't come apart nearly as easily as the fronts.

The heat gun is a no go... I was able to open the turn signal lights no prob with the gun but the tails are a different kinda silicone. I was reading about somone who did theirs on a G35 and they had to dremel them apart. I am gonna give that a shot...
