Default The new side mirror trend

So today I saw an NSX and a Mini Cooper S with RED side mirrors. Ive been seeing these on more and more cars recently. What's everyone's take on this trend? Audi's RS4 also comes with silver colored side mirrors (regardless of paint color) which I think would look great against my daytona blue... thinking about buying someones silverstone mirrors and giving it a try.

Thoughts?!

I was considering CF covers (forget those small racing mirrors, i dont want to lose the power and heated functions)... but they look black and unpainted, Im trying to tone the CF on my car down to accents. Still debating about what to do with my hood (paint it or keep it CF).

Anyway, this mirror idea is growing on me... here is a picture of the RS4 in blue..

Here is the new Works Mini w/ Red Mirrors...

Here is an F1 car w/ red mirrors...

Civic...

Ferrari...

It appears to be solely aesthetic except for in the case of the F1 car in which it is used to tell that driver from his teammate who rocks yellow mirrors.

The silver on the Audi doesn't look so bad cause it matches the silver window trim, but the red ones are FUGLY

In that picture it does look like they match, but Im pretty sure the side and grille trim are chrome and the mirrors are more of a brushed look. I'll see if I can find a better picture.

EDIT: from what I can tell the RS4 does match its mirrors with the door trim and grille and the S4 does the same but with chrome.

Consider this, 350z door handles, emblems, etc have that silver look that might look pretty good with a set of silver mirrors...
