Default aftermarket seats - where are you guys putting the seatbelt buckle?

My car is in the shop and among other things an aftermarket seat is going in. The OEM seat was pulled out, but the seatbelt bucklet latch that the seatbelt actually plugs into I guess is part of the OEM seat assembly

...so aside from using a harness, what are you guys with aftermarket seats doing about the buckle? Did you take it of and bolt it to the chasis somehow?

I need answers ASAP and am at work so I can't really dig through a bunch of threads searching like I normally would

You unbolt the seatbelt latch from the stock assembly and bolt them up to your aftermarket seat rails. Well that is what we did at the shop using bride seat rails.

yeah that's what I was figuring - thanks

I have one of those SPL carbon fiber seats and SPL just said the same thing to me on the phone, but he didn't seem really sure in the case of the 350Z. I'm just concerned because my installer was acting like it wasn't really clear cut how the belt assembly went on the that bracket.

I'm not sure on the SPL ones but the bride seat rails have a little metal tab with a circle cut out, just for the seatbelt latch. The Bride rails also come with new hardware for the seatbelt latch.

if your seat bracket doesnt have a hole for the seat belt, have the shop weld one on-

ftl to roll with 4 pt harnesses on the street w/o rollbar and it just looks weird, you can't turn your head to check blind spots either-

+1 to what everyone else has said. There should be a piece on the mounting bracket to attach the buckle to.

We use either Bride FG or Juran brackets, depending on the size of the seat, both brackets have provisions for the seat belt latch. If it is the Bride brackets you may have to look through the box for the hardware to attach the seat belt latch...

there wasn't any additional hardware in the box I don't think so it must have been the Juran bracket

Believe it or not the stock hardware is the same exact hardware. You can just reuse that.

I just looked it up, it was a wide seat so you got the Juran brackets, there is a welded tab on the brackets for the stock seat latch. All that you need to do is unbolt the stock seat latch from the stock seat, and bolt it onto the Juran brackets...

ok thanks. Everything is installed now

once my installer took the seat latch off and got into it more, he saw how it was supposed to go together on the new bracket. He said it was actually really easy, he just couldn't see how the latch went on until he took it off the stock bracket
