full vertex kit and nismo rears?
one of the time attack Z's from best motoring does that..lemme try and find the pic.
found pics, but haven't found one with a pick where you can see both.

Reason why you see the ugly rear bumpers on the '08 Nismo Z's, or any other functional Z rear bumper is for aerodynamics.
The rear bumper for the Vertex full kit acts like a parachute, and hinders aerodynamics. Obviously, that's probably why Yashio Factory chose to go with the Nismo rears instead of the Vertex full rear bumper. Imagine having an exhaust like the HKS Ti, or any other exhaust not shaped like the stock exhaust, and the rear bumper further acts like a parachute. The stock exhaust actually fills the rear section and has a front fin to help funnel air through the rear eficiently.

ps: I've only seen rear shots so i dont actually know how much it covers underneath the rear of the car.
The only reason I didn't go with the Vertex rear is that, I wanted to show the piping on the HKS exhaust. With the rear Vertex lip, I think it would cover it up... I didn't know about the whole parachute thing. I hope this answers your question.

go with the nismo rears and mold them bad boys onto the bumper...it looks reeaallly good!! there was a local guy around me that did it and it looks f*ckin sweet! he totalled his car so no pics for ya, sorry
