Default Rattle from hatch,,, dealer says no fix

here's the situation
i dropped off my 06 at a dealership today to fix the rattle coming from the hatch. Rep called me back after 10 hours that they identified the rattle to be coming from a body weld after pulling every piece from the hatch area.
And the rep tells me that there is no fix for it because the same noise comes from 3 different new 07s he drove...

Does anyone know what I should do at this point?
I'm just MAD!#%!$! Shouldn't Nissan take responsibility of their products at least during the warranty period?

When I pick up my car, I'm gonna make sure that they actually worked on my car, and secondly, I'm gonna see if the noise is coming from the latch...

I'm surprised at what I get for $30,000

OMG, same exact thing is happening to my 06. I took it to 2 different dealerships and they cant find it. I narrowed it down to the noise coming from the hatch trunk lid. Either the inside plastic panel or something inside the actual lid. Trust me Ive spent hours myself taking the back of my car apart.

About them saying that they cant fix it, thats BS! I have an appointment tomorrow at the same dealership where I bought the car. If they dont fix it, Im gonna be pissed. I dont care if they have to replace the whole damn trunk lid!!

f.y.i
That rattle is not the kind of noise bad welds make. In fact, if there was bad welds in any part of the frame, that's grounds for a recall. Major safety hazard. I think they just told you that to make you leave.

I dont understand why dealers cant just do the right thing. Thats why the majority of people dont trust most mechanics and or dealerships. Rule of thumb, alwasy get the old part back from the mechanic/dealership, and if you can try and learn about the procedure that took place. Check the internet for as much info as you can. Scam artists hate an informed customer the most.

There was a thread started a couple weeks ago about the hatch rattle, with some responses from people who found and fixed it. Try searching a little and you might have some luck with yours. The dealers will always blow smoke up peoples a$$es before they actually take a wrech to anything.

Try this thread

thanks for the link chad
actually, i've been looking at the thread... only thing I haven't tried is the latch. Lately, I just got so lazy and don't feel like to take apart something that may end up just waste of time...
but since the dealer ditched me and left me to dry, I guess I gotta fix it myself...
BTW, i picked up my car and I am almost sure that they only took off the weather strip and some easy panels,,, not the entire hatch,,, and definitely not any of hatch panels... I'm just so disappointed again

Also, THE DEALER LEFT ONE BEAT UP BOLT ON MY PASSENGER SEAT
It seems like THEY REALLY DON'T WANT ME BACK

By the way. I was the one that posted that original thread about the rattle in the hatch of my Z. Like I said, I've taken this think to the dealer 4 times. I got it back this past saturday and I think they fixed it because I dont hear it anymore. They said they adjusted the latch on the trunk lid. Im still skeptical though. I gonna drive down some rough roads with the music down to see if I hear it. If I do, it's on. Are you in cali?

Do you guys have spoilers? Ever pop the plastic piece of the hatch out, there's alot of metal shavings that the dealership never cleaned out from installing spoilers.

I installed OEM spoiler myself with 3M double sided tape only, didn't drill or make holes...

Default Me TOO!

I have not tried the dealer. I do want to go to jail. I pulled all the panels off with no luck. I just read a post about the hatch release cable. I will try that next.

One thing that seems to work, is a face towel folded a place between the hatch and the bumper--I know it sounds wierd--but it works. (Temporary).

Good luck and keep posting until we find it.
