Default interior lighting?

it hit me the other night driving home about 1 or 2am that man....its DARK inside this thing at night expecially with tinted windows
i couldnt see my cruise control buttons or hardly anything that didnt already have backlit built into it
so it got me to thinking what if i put a couple of those little neon tubes above your feet hidden where you couldnt see the bulbs just the light

a member on here did it in blue, but i would go with red/orange to match my guages an cd player face an all the other stuff in the cockpit

heres a pick of the guys interior in blue
http://s12.photobucket.com/albums/a2...urrent=104.jpg

would it be tastefull and usefull for my car
or to much like a ricer
of course i would have a small rocker switch mounted out of sight to turn them on or off

it's suppose to be dark in the cockpit man!!! my car gets 2 bright inside cause all the electronic screens that I felt people can see me clearly at night with my black tint. the pix looks very nice, but I bet u that u won't feel comfortable driving it after a while, especially with cops harrasing u all the time. The only neon light I have on my Z is at the buttom of my door that lights up while the door is open.

im doubting the cops will even be able to see any lighting at all
besides theres nothing illegal about interior lights as long as they arent flashing or strobing
i found a better example of what i wanna do

but in red to match the existing interior

i just dont want the car to look stupid
but it really bugs me not having any light inside
i dont think it would be to bad with an on off switch

note, im not going to drive around with the light on
only if i need to see something inside but more subbtle than turning on the interior lights

I have purple neons under the dashboard wired to a on/off switch (you can pick one up from advance auto or napa) I like it. I used very small 4 inch tubes instead of 8 or 12 like everyone else. I dont like a blaring glow. Just a hint of color. Just wire to a on off switch, wire the power to one of the acc fuses in the fuse box and your done. If you get pulled over you can just switch them off.

I think the lighting wouldn't be bad. My friend had one installed and it looks pretty nice inside.

RICE!!!! Either adjust your interior light intensity or at most put a solitary led over each floorboard, but don't put neon. It isn't 1994 anymore, besides, you shouldn't put anything you'd find in the "mod section" at pep-boys in a Z.
