After Tints No More Partial Seal of Window WTf?
Hey Guys,
I just noticed that our car's window goes down when you open the door ever so slightly & then seals when you close the door for a tight fit. After tints my window doesn't do this anymore! Anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to why this is happening? Has this happened to anybody else? Feedback will is much appreciated.

after i got my door repainted from an accident, my door window would go up then instead of stoping it would hit the top then go down to half way. i just took it back to the dealer and they fixed it. best bet is just take it to the dealer and let them fix it.
I'm getting a new window and tint done on it this Saturday. I hope this doesn't happen to mine.
iseven, did you have the dealership work on the car from the accident and that is why they fixed it? Or, was the work done at another shop and the dealership went ahead and took care of it?

There is a black pressure switch on the door sill that when released (door opened), the window indexes down, and back up again when the switch is engaged (door closed). Since this action can mess up the bottom edge of a fresh tint job, and for ease of installation of the tint all the way to the botton of the window, your tint shop likely disabled the switches (either by taping them closed or by loosening/removing the screw in the middle of the switch) and forgot to re-enable them when they were finished. Check the switches to see if they're taped down and check to see if the screw in the middle is present, and if it is, that it's tight.
thanks guys for the feedback. Today when I left work I noticed the passenger-side window works properly & my driver-side window actually does this too but barely! From the inside you can tell because of the sealing sound from the glass to rubber weather stripping. I also noticed that it appears to be slightly un-balanced almost as if it's tight towards the front of the car & just fine towards the rear of the car. Is this bad for the car? The seal that is made at the top is even & unproblematic.

My door also does this, if I lift the lever for automatic closure the window goes all the way up then comes half-way down. Our manuals do state though that this is a safety feature & can be triggered by variations in weather. This also happens to mine but only to my driver side! I wonder why? I wonder if the car could be hotter on the driver side. I think I will check the vent & when I turn the AC on, I will direct it to the window. Maybe this will work!

my door was repainted to match the rest of the car by another shop, but the dealer took care of it anyways.
i am getting tint soon also, hope i will be luckier
Mine is doing this same thing now. I did the window motor reset, and it is better. I can tell the passenger window is not sealing like it previously was, and can't figure out what else could be the problem. I tried the reset thing twice. I now get a whistling noise at high speeds out of that window, and I can tell it is not sitting all the way up when the door is closed like the drivers side is.
Any ideas???
