Default Steering Wheel Install DIY?
Just curious if there is a DIY for installing a steering wheel and quick release hub.

Im pretty sure you just:
-Disconnect battery
-take screws out of the side of the wheel that hold the airbag in
-unplug airbag/remove airbag
-break loose the big nut holding the wheel on and then remove it

I also think the airbag srews are actually torx bolts.

is it really pretty easy or you just being sarcastic Jay'z ? Yea they are torx bolts

Specifically, they are "tamper proof 34T torx bolts". Unless you buy the specific bit to un-do these bolts, an ordinary 34T bit will not have the nipple recess in the end. When I took my steering wheel off to recover it in custom leather, I replaced the torx bolts with ordinary hex head M6 bolts to reinstall the steering wheel.

its a pretty easy DIY, only the part thats tough is the torx bolts. And yes you need the special tool or you cant even get the stock wheel off

you can find quality ones at sears. Also, i used a steering wheel puller to take it off.

Not sure. I never taken any steering wheels off without a steeringi wheel puller. It's much easier and i have one here at home so i never had that option. I'm guessing it can be done but i rather do it the right way. I think you can borrow one at some auto parts stores.

I bought mine at Ace Hardware. Just make sure you buy a tamper proof 34T bit instead of a standard, 34T bit. I also found in my case, that the steering wheel puller was unnecessary. After nut removal (19mm socket), a sharp tug freed the wheel from the splines.

hmmm....i think it is a T30 tamper proof torx bolt

recently installed one myself.

it is included if you purchase the Works Bell short hub.

other tool you need is a 19 mm deep socket (i believe it is 19mm)

Correction on my previous advise - drsifu is right, the torx size is 30T and NOT 34T. Thx for the catch!
