Default Titek duct

Does anybody have any horror stories about installing one of these? I am really wanting to get one but I'm paranoid I will butcher the bumper, even with the templete.

I installed my spoiler myself and wasn't worried because I know if I messed it up a little, it would all be covered up anyway and it went fine. If I fug up the hole, the whole bumper is fugged up.

When you guys used the templete, did you find that the hole was too small, too big or just right?

I'm saving to buy a new truck next Christmas and I'm done putting stuff on the Z for a while (2 years or so), since I will be upgrading it's suspension some time down the road but ordered blue lugs and want to get one of these too, to throw on.

I found the Titek template to be off and way too close to the headlight. To alleviate this, I modified the Varis Template (see my post below)

"Measure twice, cut once." It's not bad at all. I used a box cutter and it was warm outside when I did it. Cuts like butter. Drew the pattern on my bumper with a dry erase marker and made sure it looked OK for positioning. Cut slow. My lack of pop-rivet savvy is the only problem that I had. "Loose nut behind the gun syndrome"!

I just did mine a few hrs ago not bad at all had to trim like 1/16" off here and there but u have alot of room to play since it has basically a big flange around the hole. Also alot of people's dont follow the hood lines and it looks a little off. Adjust ur template and look at it a bunch from a distance.

Thanks now I just need to make up my mind what it's going to look like on my redline. I've seen a couple of pics on a redline but they had smoked this and carbon lips, hoods, etc. and it's not quite the same, since my front end, hood, lights are stock.

Ok last question....

Did the duct suck down pretty flat/flush all the way around, against the bumper once screwed or rivited in place or was there a gap/gaps between the two?
