Default Excessive rock chips on vielside underwings

I'm getting EXCESSIVE rock chips on the rear underwings.. to the point where it looks like my paint got sand blasted after only 2 months of having it painted.. mostly where the front part of the rear underwings (not the ones behind front wheel, the ones in front of the rears).. anyone else get excessive chips? Or did the paint job I have just suck?

when you just got something painted and start to drive around, it will not have fully cured yet so you will get more chips. Also, it can be your paint job as well.

+1 If I had it all to do over again, I would have 1) had the patience to let the paint cure before install and 2) had it covered in clear bra plastic.

I have had mine for about a year now and it looks pretty much the same as descirbed. Its normal, good thing they are small and easy to paint. I just use some touch up paint here and there, no use in getting them repainted it will just happen again.

fawk.. this blows especially since I've only had them on for around 3k miles.. If I wouldve known these happened to the underwings I wouldn't have gotten them. Oh well.. time to put multiple layers of touch up paint.. tacky, but it is what it is..

the underwings are not the problem - either the paint/prep work was, or the lack of drying and curing time. Paint durability is only as good as the materials used (quality of materials varies, alot), and the prep (before and after). It's easy to get it wrong, much harder to get it right unfortunately

Clear Bra FTW! It's worth the money to get the clear bra done right after to not have keep spending money on painting them again down the road.

Actually, wear items like under neath those under wings, the clear bra would look pretty messed up as well. Not sure if you have seen a clear bra that has been chipped all over. Looks horrible. I rather just repaint like one of the above member said. It's cheap and you can polish or touch up when needed.

I have the same wear, the design of the underwings put them right in the area where stuff from the road will hit them. Don't think anything would hold up to the daily sandblasting.
