Default exterior protection...

I find that the majority of my paint chips occur when I have to take road trips(i am in the military and have to take 10hr trips sometimes) though I get reimbursed for gas I hate the damn rock chips I have a clear bra on the bumper so the headlights and the hood are my primary concern. My question is when you guys take you cars to the track do you ever put any temporary material on the bumper/lights/hood to protect it from rock chips? I wonder f there is a material out there that I could use on the hood/lights just for my 12 hr roadtrip next friday to try to protect the Z...any knowledge out there would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

I read here somewhere that some people on My350Z use the blue painters tape on trackdays to protect the frontend's of our cars. I have experienced no issues on trackdays with rocks, I usually see only marbles (the small pieces of rubber from the tires that collect offline at the track.)

The blue/green tape thing works great. I just used it the other day for my trip to reno. The roads were still dirty from all the snow that melted and crap they put on it to keep the roads clear.
