He stated that that Key Fob was for his G35...

Reading comprehension seems to have taken a nose dive.

It's a Mazda Keyfob. I believe there is a guy on g35driver who dismantles your original keyfob and retro fits it into the mazda. I think it was like $125 for the guy to do it, but it's been a while since I read that thread.

Wtf? Are you serious? I bought one for $30 and tried to transplant the hardware, to no avail. I didn't think that it could actually just work on its own hardware for the Z - since the chipsets are totally different.

That is the '07/'08 Altima fob indeed. There was a thread here not too long ago where someone asked whether those would work on the Z and most of us (myself included) said that it wouldn't since Altima uses keyless start technology and the fob circuitry would not accomodate other Nissans.

I AM GLAD you proved us wrong. That is an awesome fob! Looks like it can simply be added to our Zs ECUs as an additional remote, based on what you said the tech did. If so, that would be a simple 10 second procedure.

Ok this is def SICK!! and im in a rental Mazda right now and havin this little key fob thing is great. But ? about the Altims key. I work at a chevy delaership and that looks like it is the same style as the new 08 vettes. So ? is since we dont have remote starter everytime we get in the car we have to take the hidden key out crank it up then when we want to get out we have to slip it back in the fob?

Dont seem 2 bad but idk if I would like that. ANother thing is if I go to the mazda dealer and get 1 of those keys a nissan tech can program it? Thanks
