I installed a 7000k Lumiko kit in my base Z. I actually have a couple more for sale if you want. $450 shipped. Comes with 1 year manufacturer warranty... All plug and play, no cutting of any wires, very easy to install. PM me if interested....

The base model 350 has a H7 for the low beam and H1 for the high beam... I have the HID kit available in both if you want. I can sell the H7 for $450 shipped and if you wanted both, I could sell for $850 shipped.... I have replaced the H7 in my Z and you can't even see the stock high beams any more when you turn them on.

They work the same way with a ballast, starter, and zenon gas, but aftermarket ones like the ones I have and sell are 7000k and the stock are probably around 4000k... The difference is the intensity and color. The stock ones are kinda dull and white where the 7k ones are brighter and more purple like the audis and bmws

advantages?
you cannot aim the aftermarket ones. Like for the Ford PU's there is no High beam or low beam, just a beam. The stock reflectors in your vehicle do not aim the beam well.

I will have to disagree... The Z headlights are adjustable up and down. I have adjusted mine several times and my aftermarket ones are 10 times brighter than the stock. Another advantage is that aftermarket ones are probably about 1/3rd cheaper....
