Lightbulb Silver Blinker Bulb Install

Well yesterday OC_350Z and I decided to change out blinker bulbs to Silver bulbs (Cyclolite #7440) that blink amber. Also we changed the parking lights to PIAA LED Super Whites (#168).

First off I oredered a Service manual off eBay to make things easier if we got stuck, which of course we did many times. After we start tearing apart both cars (@ 4pm) we realize this might take longer than expected so we continued the demolition on Andrews ride, and put mine on the back burner. Plus it was much more comforting to tear someone else's car apart to learn a quicker method (sorry drew). This is in Pic#1. To make a long storey short, Andrew figured out that it is much quicker to leave the bumper on, and just remove the FR wheels, and wheel wells to reach the headlamp from the backside. w/o even removing the lamp assy. Gosh he's so smart... So it took about 4 hours to do OC_350's ride, and about 45-hour to do mine once we did his. Hope this helps someone in the future so they can save some time.
PS- even the service manuals says to remove the front fascia..

got them both off eBay.. For the Silver bulb do a search for "7440 chrome" and the parking lights do a search for "168 PIAA".. I still need to do the high beam lights (below the xenon lights)..

LOL dude, it takes you 45 minutes after you already knew how to do it... sorry man but I did mine and only took 15 minutes.

All you have to do is turn the wheel one way, pull the fender line and bingo you can see the plug. Believe me, my car is lowered too so it makes it that much harder... Looks good though

I was curious...what ramps are you using?
Do you have any trouble scraping as you drive onto them?

Thanks.

Default DUH

Ya its pretty scary taking off the bumper but its actually not that hard.

Man wicked4u2c.. Now that you put it like that I'm like "DUH"

Jester350Z- The clearance is like 1/4 inch. I'll post the brand name when I get home. They work great, but I have a feeling once the car gets springs I won't be able to use them.

CMJ forgot to metion that I said in the begining "Hey why don't we just take the tire off?" Oh well it was his birthday and he wanted to tear apart my 40k car so I wasn't going to stop him.

1. Ramps

I got those ramps at Wal*Mart a while back to work on my M3. They are some sort of recycled plastic, hold 12k pounds and cost like $26 bucks. The Z clears the ramp by about a 2cm,(that is not a typo) so sorry guys with springs.

2. How does it look?

The lights do look better, although I don't think you would really notice if I didn't tell you.

3. Birthday

note to self: next time just get Chris a card and some beer and keep your new car as far away from his house as possible.
