Interesting. Never seen it done before. I'm assuming it only has a not-so- bright red illumination when the headlights are not actually turned on for regular usage...

well obviously they arent a replacement for the actual lamps just an addition so when the DRL's are running, these are on.

that is probably when the 'driving' lights are turned on and not when the headlights are fully on for nighttime driving.

the halos are really cool either way.

yea i imagine it isnt too hard but would require drilling into a headlight just like you would if you added a strobe light, except you would have to get behind the projector lens and add a little red led and wire it up to your driving lights. wouldnt be too hard if you know what your doing.

Curious, do you think the police would throw a fit about it? the whole no blue or red lights thing...? maybe since they are dim, and only running lights they wouldnt, just a thought.

hmmm, I do know people have had issues with replacing the running light with a blue one, and red also. Seen it come up once in the 350z forum, and a few times in the 5th gen prelude forum. Both were in the headlights and didnt really resemble a police car. The police arguement is that blue and red lights are basicly reserved for emergency vehicles, and that they dont want anyone to mistake it for one... Seems like the rules vary from state to state.

Looks simple enough to create? I got a spare set of HID housings right next to me I can do that to. Could just as easy add several colors behind the glass and create an in car control modual to shift to the color you want at any given time. I've even been messing with an LED halo that will all turn on, or just one at a time giving the illusion of going in circles chasing itself (Think knight rider, but in a circle).

Here you go, like I said, I can do that. Simple use of LED's is all. Can be made brighter or lighter... Or anyway you want for that matter? Now if I can just get someone to let me do that....

Fire red LED

soft purple LED

Ice blue LED
