Default Floor-In-Cab Moisture?? Help!!! Where is it coming from??

Just recently I have notice that there is moisture on the inside of my z. I thought maybe the firewall had some kind of leak and the rain water was getting in. But it happens when its not raining also. The moisture accumulates on the carpet where my feet are. Passenger and driver side.( driver side more wet than passenger side. If I drive for like a half hour, the carpet can get soaked. Sometimes it gets hot and steamy also. I have touched and inspected the moisture, I know its not oil or engine fluid, it just feels like water and has no smell. I dont want to get involved with the dealership, because they will charge me for what I already know.
Can anyone identify my problem. Help!!! Thanks

Have you ever had new speakers or an aftermarket alarm installed? If so, I would check the clip where the wires leave the door and enter the cabin to make sure its not dislodged or open in any way. When I installed my aftermarket alarm, I drove around with one of those clips loose and could feel a lot of outside air coming in that way.

Sounds like the drain tube for the AC is plugged and water is backing up in the system and leaking in the interior. Never heard of this in a Z, but used to happen all the time in my VW.

Yes, must be condensation if it has no anti-freeze smell. But if he doesn't run the AC it won't happen, Go test it out OP.

Have you checked the fluid level in the radiator? I'm not sure where the heater core is located in a Z but if you're getting some steam it could indicate some very hot water leaking in and that would seem to come from the radiator. I would suspect the heater system.

+1

AC drain plugged or disconnected

I dont know where its located in the Z, but the prelude I owned had the same issue after I had my cd player installed, they didnt stick the two tubes back together. Look around with a flashlight and see if you can see a tube that could be draining into the cabin, typicly its under the dash somewhere. You may just need to connect it to the other tube that leads the water out.

Before my Z I had a 2004 Altima SE 3.5 brand new. I had nearly 1 1/2 inches of water on the passenger side floor. Dealer said it was the AC discharge tube that got mistakenly routed INTO the car. The fixed it (easy fix), apologized and put in all new carpeting!

This happend in my Nissan truck too shortly after I bought it. The drain tube accidently got unplugged by a passengers big foot.

Unless it's the heater core.
