Default smoke tail lights: black clear coat ratio

hey guys i've seen this question somewhere around the forums before but i can't find the damn thing. but anyways, what is the black to clear coat ratio when smoking the tail lights?

IIRC, Acree once mentioned that he had his bodyshop mix 1:5 black:clear and apply coats on his tail lights until he was satisfied with the shade. You might want to confirm with him.

We did two parts clear to one part black for all the various tinting i've done.

you can always get a black candy concentrate to add to the clear...this is probably the better way to go since its made to be transparent.

just grab some nightshades. Used it on my old Mazda6 and it came out way better than I thought. Here is a quick shot of the smoked tails

Or you could not cheap out and use paint/clear like I did on my last car.

Yeah I guess he could do that if he wanted to get rear ended in the middle of the night on the freeway. How much light would actually come through with that?

Whats the legal amount in Georgia? Got any pics of the tailights on? Here in Cali anything on the tailights is illegal. I got pulled over once for my windows and tailights, the cop told me he was going to writing me a fix-it ticket for the widows (which was understandable) and my tailights. I began to ask him why because I thought the law said you only need to be able to see the taillights from two miles away. He then told me NO and wrote me a ticket.

I don't remember what the law says, i'ts been a while since I had to deal with it. And no pics with the lights on that I can find.

Because it typically looks like crap when it's not clearcoated.
