Ah, did your use that activator. If so, you melted it and have to recondition and paint it or replace it.
If not, WD-40 works well.
Also lighter fluid, but rinse after use.
Goo gone as someone mentions below works but, be careful leave it on too long and it will haze that shiny black surface and may even melt it a bit. Depends on the material and how hard it is. "I'd have a bad experience."

could soak it in hot water and rub it off with your finger's. .may take a while but it works well. .a penetrating grease or wd40 may work good as well, but dont hit it with any type of carb cleaner or nething. .might damage the coating. see if u can use a razor blade and slide it under and scrape it off nice and easy. .
