Carbon Fiber hood Question???
I just ordered a carbon fiber hood. Does anyone recommend puttin hood pins on it? let me know any info about them, i never used hood pins before. How would you drill through the carbon fiber, how hard are they to install? I wouldnt want to drill a hole a tad bit off, that would suck.

use hood pins at least. I just went with the sparco hood pins for the ease of it. I also used a dremel to cut out the holes. Just take your time and cut a little at a time and it's no big deal.

After I installed the threaded pins next to the headlights, I used a dab of grease on top of them and shut the hood to mark where the holes needed to be. Then I just kept opening up the hole on the hood until everything cleared. like I said, a little at a time. The latch just screws to the top of the hood. But use the dremel to make the holes, a drill bit will more than likely crack the hood.

Hood pins look kinda cheesy even the expensive ones, though not as bad.
However you kinda really should do something to save your windsheild, roof and hood in the event of failure.
Rig up a safety strap, so that the hood would only fly up about 3-4"
Of course if your catch ever did fail, you would have to use pins anyway.

I heard this happening with a stock hood before. In that instance, the hood was not properly closed.
